Commenting on a post by Massimo , Salvo Mizzi (Head of Internet Media & Digital Communication at Telecom Italia) revealed some interesting statistics on the size of Twitter in our country, provided by the representatives of the social network. 1) Registered Users in Italy (number) ~1.3M 2) Active Users in Italy (%) ~350K on a trailing 30 day basis (counted by login to Twitter or API, not including SMS use) 3) Demographics Italian subscribers (gender, age split %) We don't capture these statistics 4) Italian unique visitors (month) ~7.8M to Twitter.com 5) Italian Twitter Users growth (last 12 months) We've seen a 30% increase in signups over the last 30 days with a total of ~100K in that trailing 30 day period.
We don't have statistics for a full year on this. 6) Daily Brazil Phone Number tweets from Italian subscribers ~350K tweets/day Some considerations: – Only around 27% of registered users are active – Unique visitors on Twitter.com are much higher than those provided by Nielsen and Google Ad Planner (around 7.8 million versus around 1.3 million) – But these registered users are many or few ? To have some terms of comparison, I have collected in a graph the data on Italians registered on Facebook, over 16 and a half million, and on LinkedIn, almost 1,200 thousand (data provided by the respective advertising platforms).
Groups : a new private space where you can chat, even simultaneously, edit documents collaboratively and exchange emails with a limited group of contacts. By default the groups, which can be created directly from the homepage, are "closed" (those who are not invited can know their existence and see their members, but not their contents), but it is possible to create "secret" ones (not indexed) and “open”. Each member can add friends and outsiders will be able to request admission to the group. As soon as a new member is added, the notice “Member X has added new member Y” will be displayed. This tends to make individual actions of inclusion more responsible. The groups are designed for a limited number of users, so if the group grows too much, "anti-noise" filters will come into action, for example the chat will be disabled when it reaches 250 users. The old version of the Groups is kept alive, but in fact, it will become obsolete, given that the new one offers undoubted additional advantages.
